Despite a slight decrease in HIV prevalence in KwaZulu-Natal, alarming gaps between scientific advancements and community behaviour persist. This article explores the critical need for stronger community advocacy to bridge the divide between HIV science and real-world implementation, emphasising the importance of addressing social and cultural factors in the fight against HIV.
