Social media users have slammed Hugh Grant for his post about treatment at London's Heathrow Airport.

During a recent trip, with his family, Grant took to X to complain about how staff at the bustling airport spoke to his children.

"Just came through Heathrow with wife and children. We all have the same last name (Grant) on our passports. Immigration officer engages my children in chit chat then whispers to them ‘Are these your Mum and Dad?’ Intrusive, insulting and creepy."

Hugh, who shares daughter Tabitha Xiao, 13, and son Felix Chang, 11, with actress Tinglan Hong, also has three children with Anna – son John Mungo, 12, and daughters Lulu Danger, nine, and six-year-old Blue.

According to entertainment news site, Bang Showbiz, a spokesperson for Heathrow Airport confirmed the immigration officers involved are part of the UK Home Office's Border Force, not employees of the airport itself.

Grant's post did not earn him any favour with social media users.

"Perhaps instead of being offended like a Karen you could reframe this to acknowledge that question was asked to keep YOUR children safe. Get off your high horse and stop acting like this was a personal affront to you," commented @itsjustamar

"Not creepy or intrusive if a child has been trafficked/kidnapped? Think bigger than the world revolving around you and yours," added @ToBeDamnedOrNot.

"Children are trafficked every day. You should be thanking the airport authorities for keeping your babies safe," stated @URSoulPowerful

Hugh rose to fame in the 1990s with his breakout role in ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’, which earned him a Golden Globe. Known for his charm and comic timing, he became a staple of British romantic comedies, starring in hits such as ‘Notting Hill’, ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ and ‘Love Actually’.
