Lasizwe’s hit YouTube series Awkward Dates is officially making its way to television, and the milestone has sparked heartwarming reactions from his family. 

The YouTube series will premiere on Mzansi Magic (channel 161) on Saturday, April 12, at 9pm. 

The reality-style show, known for its unfiltered, hilarious, and often cringe-worthy celebrity date scenarios, is part of a lineup of popular digital shows now being adapted for TV. 

Lasizwe, often joined by his brother Lungile, has hosted well-known guests like Julius Malema, Boity Thulo, Thando Thabethe, Maps Maponyane and Ntando Duma. Over time, the show has attracted more celebrities and even political figures.

This marks a significant moment for Lasizwe, who took a moment to honor his late mother during the announcement, holding up a framed photo and sharing how much he wished she could witness his success.

Still, his family has shown overwhelming support, celebrating this major career move alongside him. Sharing his excitement online, Lasizwe wrote, "Awkward Dates is officially coming to Mzansi Magic! My family’s reaction to the news—absolutely priceless! 

"Thank you to every single one of you who’s supported me along the way. From a 26-year-old in Pimville, Soweto, creating a YouTube show, to now being on national television—what a journey!"

Lasizwe’s family is still cheering him on. He called some of them to share the exciting news, and they were all happy for him and congratulated him on his success, one of his siblings  Khanyi Mbau was also happy for him. 

With a loyal fanbase and the backing of his loved ones, Lasizwe’s leap from digital to television is not just a personal triumph—it’s a cultural moment.
