Reality TV star Vuyokazi Nciweni recently shared details about her cosmetic surgery in Turkey on social media.
Taking to YouTube, the mother of two shared an hour-long vlog showcasing her trip and sharing details and reasons why she decided to do a gastric sleeve procedure.
“I was supposed to tell you guys about my journey to Turkey and why I came to Turkey. So, guys, I actually came for a gastric sleeve surgery/weight loss surgery.
“It’s something that I thought would be good for me because I am actually struggling with losing weight. I’ve tried everything; eating proper foods and all of that, but I think I lacked self-discipline when it comes to the kind of foods that I eat and that has become very unhealthy for me to a point where it gets so bad," she explained.
The “Izingane Zesthembu” star mentioned that other reasons for getting the cosmetic surgery were because her body feels very heavy, her legs get swollen and she’s always tired.
She added that getting the surgery for her is going to help in terms of her lifestyle, the food she consumes and how much she consumes it
The 26-year-old further mentioned, “Also, I’m doing this for my kids because I want to live longer for them."
Gastric sleeve surgery is where a significant portion (at least 80%) of the stomach is removed, leaving only a tube-shaped stomach.
The small tube-shaped stomach can only hold small amounts of food, which leads to weight loss.
This surgery is effective as it helps reduce the production of ghrelin, a hormone that stimulates appetite, which can lead to a decrease in hunger and cravings.
Many South African celebrities such as Cyan Boujee, Gugu Gumede and Lungile Thabethe have been open about their struggles with weight loss, and they shared in the past that they also underwent this procedure.
