Medical doctor turned musician Tumisang Makweya added another feather in his cap after he managed to fill up the 30 000 seater Voortrekker Monument Amphitheatre, in Pretoria, this past weekend.
The second leg of the Dr Tumi’s Gathering of Worshippers2018 #GOW18, Beauty for Ashes concert took place at the historic "Afrikanerdomon" on Saturday night.
With this feat, the gospel sensation wrote his name in the history books as one of the first musicians to fill up the Amphitheatre, and also one of the first black musicians to stage a concert in a venue with a painful and divisive history and was known as a bastion of Afrikanerdom with no blacks allowed in.
Dr Tumi said she sees the Gathering of Worshippers as a reconciliatory move and it’s his humble effort in fostering national unity and social cohesion.

There have been many testimonies shared on social media by those who attended who spoke of how they got healed and others reached their breakthrough moments.

"God was healing people as we worshipped. Glory be to God. I am both touched and moved by the support from everybody who attended. God was with us. Part of the success of the event was partnering with churches and getting over 300 churches involved in the campaign leading up to GOW2018," said Dr Tumi.
In 2017, Dr Tumi made musical history when he became the first gospel artist to fill up the 20 000 seater, Ticket ProDome, making him the second South Africa artist to fill up the Dome after rapper Cassper Nyovest.
Dr Tumi has now set his sights on the third edition of the concert for 2019.
"Truly the sky is the limit. I dream of bigger stages and bigger audiences to spread the Gospel and worship with fellow Believers. I’m encouraged by the success of GOW2018 and I know that 2019 will only be massive. God is with us," added Dr Tumi.
