The soundtracks that shaped generations.

The voices that moved the world.

And now, for one unforgettable night, some of South Africa’s most extraordinary musical talents will stand shoulder to shoulder with global icons in a performance that will echo across time.

On 18 April 2025, Lebo M Live with Special Guest Hans Zimmer takes over Cape Town’s Grand Arena at Grand West Casino in a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of legacy, artistry, and homecoming.

At the heart of this historic event is a breathtaking ensemble of local brilliance: Mi Casa brings their signature blend of house, soul, and groove; the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra offers majestic sonic depth; the Soweto Spiritual Singers and Drakensberg Boys Choir infuse the night with rich choral traditions; while the electrifying Ndlovu Youth Choir delivers a vibrant, contemporary energy that has captivated the world.

Rising stars Refi Sings and Nkosinathi Shabalala—son of the legendary Joseph Shabalala of Ladysmith Black Mambazo—represent the powerful next generation of South African musical storytelling.

Together, these artists form the heartbeat of a night that transcends performance—it’s a tribute to heritage, a celebration of collaboration, and a reimagining of the music that has shaped the global imagination.

At the centre of it all is the iconic Lebo M—Grammy Award-winner, Broadway visionary, and the unmistakable voice of The Lion King.

With unforgettable anthems like He Lives in You, Shadowlands, and One by One, Lebo M has moved millions across the globe.

Now, he returns home to honour a journey decades in the making.

Sharing the stage with him is none other than his longtime collaborator and brother in music, Hans Zimmer.

The Oscar-winning composer behind The Lion King, Gladiator, Inception, Dune, Interstellar, and The Dark Knight Trilogy, Zimmer joins Lebo M for a rare live performance—his first ever in South Africa.

Together, these two titans reunite to reflect on their shared legacy and the sound that changed film forever. For Zimmer, it’s a “homecoming of spirit”—a return to the continent that has inspired some of his most powerful work.

This is more than a concert. It’s a moment of unity, a celebration of African excellence, and a powerful reminder that the spirit of a place lives in its music.
