Gail Mabalane returns in 'Unseen' season 2 alongside Siv Ngesi, Sindi Dlathu, Zolisa Xaluva

South African actress Gail Mabalane is set to reprise her role as Zenzi Mwale on season two of the thrilling Netflix series "Unseen".

The six-part series is set to debut on Netflix on May 2, 2025, and the new season promises more twists and turns featuring some new faces joining the top cast.

Escalating the stakes in Zenzi’s perilous world are new figures: S’bu, portrayed by multi-award-winning actor Siv Ngesi; Eric Davids, portrayed by the renowned Kevin Smith, known for his performance on “Isidingo”; and Detective Visser, portrayed by actress Erica Wessels.

Award-winning actress Sindi Dlathu, best known for her villain character on “The River,” and the late, incomparable Sello Motloung, who plays Zenzi and Naledi’s father, will also be on the season. Motloung died last September. Also joining the cast is top actor Zolisa Xaluva, who steps into the shoes of Zenzi’s sister, Naledi’s husband, John.

Season two of “Unseen” follows Zenzi’s journey behind bars and her determination to endure the brutal prison system alone.

Still, survival in the chilling confines of jail requires allies, and she reluctantly joins forces with TK portrayed by Danica Jones, a cunning inmate with a dangerous hidden agenda. Betrayal strikes when Zenzi realises a deadly target is on her back. 

Desperate and running out of time, Zenzi’s forced into uneasy partnerships with Detective Lyners portrayed by Ilse Klink, Detective Morkel portrayed by Waldermar Schultz, and her estranged sister, Naledi played by Dineo Langa as she breaks out of prison and goes on the run, torn between the pull of vengeance and the promise of freedom.

The first season of “Unseen” thrilled audiences, and fans are ready for the next season.
