The annual Darling Summer Beer Festival is back and promises to kick off your December holidays in a truly memorable way – with an ice-cold beer, live music, artisanal foods and so much more to enjoy with friends and family!
Taking place for the third year running at the Darling Brew Tasteroom & Brewery in the small town of Darling in the Western Cape on Saturday 16 December, this much-anticipated festival has rightfully carved a spot for itself on the Cape events calendar as a must-do activity, with something for the entire family.
Once again, the festival features guest breweries, including Riot Beer, Black Eagle Brewing Company, Yzer Bru, Drifter Brewing Company, and newcomer to the craft beer scene, Signal Gun. In addition to craft beer, the Cloof Wine Estate will be on hand, along with the popular Darling Brew Gin Bar to ensure that there is something for every palate. The Loxtonia fruit farm in Ceres will also be launching their new ciders at the beer festival.
Live music will keep festival goers entertained, - with the ‘Stone Jets’ headlining this year's festival alongside Indie-Folk musicians ‘Jackal and the Wind’ and the fresh, energetic ‘CrossCurrent’ to complete the line-up.
Darling Brew will be serving their craft beer straight from the brewery tanks, making the craft lover’s dream of fresher than fresh beer, a reality. Local food vendors from Darling and the West Coast will be serving up an array of delicious artisanal foods, including vegetarian fare. Darling favourite, the Flying Pig Curesmiths, will be on site serving their popular pulled-pork and smoked ribs. There will also be Darling Brew merchandise and festive gift boxes on sale for those wanting to grab a Christmas gift for the beer lover in their lives.
Darling Brew’s Summer Beer Festival has come to be known as not only the perfect event for beer lovers, but also for family’s looking for a day out – with a large play area for children making it child-friendly.
