And the crown goes to Mia Le Roux - South Africa’s new Miss SA 2024!
The event, held at SunBet Arena at Times Square in Pretoria on August 10, was a glamorous affair, attracting a dazzling crowd dressed in their finest.
Le Roux, who is a marketing manager, model and part-time BCom marketing student, was born in Sasolburg in the Free State and was raised in Oudtshoorn with her brother Schalk le Roux by their parents Liesel and Schalk le Roux.
The 28-year-old was diagnosed with profound hearing loss at the age of one and currently lives in Rosebank, Cape Town.
As the event concluded, Miss South Africa 2023 Natasha Joubert passed the crown to Le Roux, officially marking her as the new titleholder.
She won a whopping R1 million in cash and a brand-new Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe as part of her award for the prestigious event.
In addition, Le Roux also won a sponsorship package that includes the use of a lavish serviced apartment and House of Bonang Netcare products of luxury beverage brands for the year of her reign.
Nompumelelo Maduna, 29, from Rockville, Soweto was named the first runner-up, while Onalenna Constantin, 26, from Potchefstroom in North West, was named second runner-up.
The event was hosted by the charismatic Bonang Matheba, a media darling who captivated the nation and kept everyone glued to their screens.
The Miss SA 2024 show on S3 (SABC 3) dazzled the nation with a star-studded panel of judges, actresses, TV personalities as well as author Leandie Du Randt, award-winning TV and radio star Lerato “LKG” Kganyago, Miss SA 2014 and Miss World 2014 Jolene Strauss, Miss SA 2000 Jo-Ann Strauss, and TV host, actress and musician Thembi Seete.
The event also featured South Africa’s dance and amapiano star Kamo Mphela, music sensation Zoë Modiga, multi-talented award-winner Lebo Mashile, and Jesse Clegg, a familiar face from the Miss SA stage who performed in 2019.
Sign language activist Andiswa Gebashe was on hand to ensure Deaf attendees do not miss a moment of the prestigious event.
