Ever wished you could have a Land Rover Defender 90 convertible?
If so, Dutch coachbuilder Heritage Customs is here to answer your prayers with its new Valiance Convertible, which has just gone into limited production.
Only two units have been built thus far, and the company isn’t planning to make more than five. It’s not cheap either, with a price tag of around 85,000 euro (R1,8 million) and that excludes the donor vehicle, which also happens to be priced in that ballpark.
Granted, Heritage Customs has done more than just chop the roof off with a hacksaw. The Defender 90 based model gets a comprehensive interior and exterior makeover.
The second production unit that you see in the pictures is finished in a striking Sunbeam Yellow exterior paint hue, with contrasting Satin Black and Gun Metal finishes.
It also receives a decal pack, along with 22-inch “Supersonic” alloy wheels.
On the inside we see black leather seat upholstery with a diamond stitch pattern. There’s also yellow contrast stitching on the outer bolsters, as well as the bespoke central armrest and the upper dashboard panels.
The convertible roof is a semi-electric soft top unit and to keep occupants safe they also fitted a roll cage built to FIA standards.
We don’t know if any units will be making their way to South Africa - although it seems unlikely given the limited numbers - but we’d certainly love to amble through Kruger Park in one of these.
