The Lotto jackpot for Wednesday night’s draw is an estimated whopping R104 million.
If won, National Lottery Ithuba said it would the second-highest jackpot ever won in South African lotto history.
The jackpot has rolled over 24 consecutive times.
Ithuba said anyone could purchase a Lotto ticket from R5.
Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza said: “With Lotto, R5 has the power to potentially bring you closer to your biggest dreams.
“Keeping our games affordable forms part of our commitment to ensure accessibility for all our aspiring multi-millionaires.”
Ithuba said five to ten years ago, R5 could go a long way.
“Whether it was to buy a Kota at your local taxi rank, ice-cream at your favourite fast-food restaurant, a packet of chips, or even taxi fare to town, but today R5.00 does not hold the same value.”
Ithuba said if this “massive jackpot” is won, it would be second highest win recorded in South Africa.
In 2018, the highest jackpot of R110 million was won by four people, followed by the R100 million jackpot which was won on in August 2024.
Ticket sales for this draw will close at 20:30pm.
Ithuba reminded its players that all winnings are tax free and that players have to be 18 years or older.
The Lotto Plus 1 is estimated at R16million and the Lotto Plus 2 jackpot is estimated at R3million.
