Cape Town - Springbok fullback Warrick Gelant's move to French club Racing 92 was confirmed on Monday, along with six new arrivals.

The 27-year-old won the United Rugby Championship with the Stormers by defeating the Bulls 18-13 at Cape town Stadium in the Grand Final.

Gelant has made nine appearances for the Springboks, the last coming during two pool matches at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.

The fullback has been a standout for John Dobson's side during the URC. His big-money move to France was reported on earlier this year, with Clayton Blommetjies having been signed by the union to replace the Knysna-born star.

Racing 92 have also recruited two Fijian internationals from Brive in back-rower Kitione Kamikamica, hooker Peniami Narisia and wing Asaeli Tuivuaka, from Parma.

The Parisian side have also signed New Zealand-born second rower Veikoso Poloniati from Super Rugby side Moana Pasifika and French hooker Janick Tarrit from second-division side Nevers.

Racing 92 finished sixth in the regular Top 14 season before losing to Bordeaux-Begles in the play-offs.

Gelant had the perfect send-off with the Capetonians, who went on an 11-match winning streak prior to winning the inaugural URC title.

After a tough start to the competition, the Stormers flourished during their home leg, with their only defeat in Cape Town coming against the Lions in Cape Town back December. Other than that, their only defeat at home came against Connacht in Galway back in February.
