Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has been full of praise for youngster Samkelo Zwane after his dominant performance in the weekend’s Carling Knockout Cup win over SuperSport United.

The 22-year-old Zwane played the full 90 minutes in Amakhosi’s 4-0 dismantling of Matsatsantsa on Saturday. After the game declared that fans should keep an eye on the young midfielder’s development.

“It’s true that Zwane has been working hard in the past few months, and we believe that he has improved because before, there were some tactical issues and concentration because he’s still young,” Nabi said after the game, as quoted by KickOff.

“Sometims he would want to do unecessary things, but it’s through games like this that our young players will grow,” said the Tunisian mentor.

“Not only him, but Mduduzi Shabalala, Wandile Duba and Mfundo Vilakazi. We believe that it’s a capital investment for the club to have those players coming from the academy, and we need to show that all those players are going to have a chance if they prove themselves,” said Nabi.

The Amakhosi coach added that while there was still a lot of work ahead for the youngsters, there was a lot more to come from them.

Nabi will be hoping for more of the same when his charges face SuperSport United — this time in the league — again this coming weekend.
