Miss South Africa 2024, Mia le Roux, has had a jam-packed week with thrilling activities since the momentous night she was crowned, from being welcomed into her new home to getting the car keys and other prizes.

The 28-year-old made history as the first differently-abled finalist in the history of the Miss South Africa pageant.

It has been reported that she has received a prize package worth R1 million in cash, along with sponsorship. The package includes the use of a serviced apartment at the opulent Brookfield at Royal in Kensington, which was developed by Tricolt, for the year of her reign. The apartment features furniture designed by Schönn and home goods and accessories by Woolworths Home.

Le Roux expressed gratitude after receiving the keys to the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé that she will drive during her reign.

“I am so excited, and I am going to have all the fun in the world with this magnificent car. I am so thankful that it is such a safe vehicle with so many in-built safety features, and I know I will have so much fun driving it this year. It is truly special to me because my Oupa was a Mercedes man, and I am now driving a Mercedes, so it is really a beautiful full-circle moment,” she said about the car.

The beauty queen also shared stunning photos of her new house as The Miss SA organisation welcomed her and helped her start a new chapter of life-changing experiences.

“Welcome Home, @mialerouxx. Our Miss South Africa stepping into her sanctuary @royal_developments_developed by @tricolt.group. With luxurious furnishings by @schonn.furniture, this space is the perfect blend of elegance and comfort. Here’s to new beginnings and beautiful memories in your new home,” said the organisation.

Le Roux also expressed her gratitude to everyone who had supported her, citing former Miss SA 2024 Natasha Joubert, Werner Wessels, and Stephanie Weil as well as other notables.

“What an unbelievable feeling. I have so much gratitude in my heart for each one of you who has supported me and rallied behind me. Last night we created a new generation of believers. Every little girl out there who has felt different because they are not what society expects them to be, will realise they are so wildly capable, just like I am.

She added: “Dearest @natasha_joubert It has been an honour to get to know and experience your heart. You are real, wildly authentic, hard-working, and passionate. You played a part in helping me find my peace without even knowing it. You have set an impeccable standard. My liewe @werner_wessels Thank you for being so unapologetic. Your light shines so brightly in such a way that you allow others to shine. You truly are a queenmaker, and if you look at my entry video and see how I have progressed and grown since then, I could not have done it without you, my Werries.

“@stephweil You are an absolute gem. Thank you for being so relentless in your pursuit of creating an inclusive space for me and all of us finalists. Nothing was ever too much for you. Thank you for your guidance and supportive hand to all of us. @schane_fouche You absolutely brought it with your smiles, guidance, and fashion. Thank you for taking such good care of all of us and for working so incredibly hard to create this incredible experience.

“@sjvanzyl Thank you for believing in me since day one; we did it. Baie liefde vir jou. Thank you, @anelbothac, for making me feel more amazing than I ever have felt in your stunning gown. I am so excited for our journey together.’’
