Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi is crafting his new path as the host of the "PowerTalk" show on Power FM.

For his first week, in the broadcaster’s chair, Ndlozi and his team have gathered powerful guests, such as legendary broadcaster Tracy Going.

In 2002, the younger Ndlozi was awarded the Young Communicators Award. Going interviewed him on SABC 2’s “Morning Live.” For Nostalgic Tuesday, Ndlozi and Going swapped seats as he interviewed her.

The two spoke about the moment they shared 23 years ago and how the interview still trends even today, which Going credits Ndlozi for.

The video was uploaded onto the SABC News YouTube page in 2017 when the former EFF spokesperson received a PhD in politics from Wits University. He used the prize money from the Young Communicators Award to study at university.

At the time of the interview, Ndlozi was 16 turning 17, he revealed to Going he had thought the late Vuyo Mbuli was going to do the interview, however, she did.

Ndlozi recalled an inside joke in the township about how he stunned Going with his response to her question regarding the importance of speaking English.

“I think association brings assimilation,” Ndlozi said and Going asked him to say it again.

Going and Ndlozi spoke about his new role as a broadcaster leaving politics and carving his new path, which he never expected. Going on the hand always felt that Ndlozi had a future in broadcasting.

The former news presenter also shared advice for Ndlozi from her years as a broadcaster such as looking at guests in the eyes and trying to bring out the best in your guest.

In his first week as the host of "PowerTalk", he had guests including broadcast veterans Shado Twala, Thuso Motaung, and Linda Sibiya. He also spoke to Felicia Mabuza-Suttle and John Robbie.
