Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Klein Drakenstein mountains and surrounded by a serene valley of vineyards and fynbos, Brookdale Manor House in Paarl offers visitors a combination of natural beauty and history.
Opened in 2021, the estate introduced a new accommodation experience in the Paarl Winelands.
Two years later, Brookdale Manor House was named as Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards Winner, and in 2024 the estate won the Accommodation category in the Best of Wine Tourism Awards.
Once overgrown and underused, the 67-hectare property was bought by the Rudd family from the United Kingdom in 2015. They saw its potential and have turned it into a thriving vineyard with luxurious accommodation.
The manor house, built in a modern Cape Dutch style, can host twelve adults and two children under twelve when booked exclusively.
The main house features five spacious en-suite bedrooms, and an additional en-suite bedroom in an adjacent building. Inside, guests can relax in the elegant living room, library, dining room, breakfast room, kitchen, or the private study.
Outside, the numerous terraces provide stunning views of the mountains and valley. The gardens, pool house, terrace, and perfectly appointed swimming pool offer spaces for guests to relax with a glass of estate wine.
Husband and wife team Yvonne and Gary Coetzee manage Brookdale Estate. They bring their extensive experience in the luxury hospitality industry from Singita in the Sabi Sands and managing the Kerzner family estate Leeukoppie in Hout Bay, ensuring five star service for every guest.
The ‘Brookdale Experience’ includes the Manor House, Tasting Room, and Bistro. The Bistro, opened in 2023 and close to the Manor House, provides a relaxed, contemporary dining experience with a menu highlighting local flavours.
Next to the Bistro, the Tasting Room features the estate’s terroir-driven wines.
